There are six sources, or disciplines, of intelligence: Measurement and signatures intelligence (MASINT) Imagery intelligence (IMINT) Geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) Signals intelligence (SIGINT), Human intelligence (HUMINT) Open source intelligence (OSINT) Since the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) officially recognized IMINT and GEOINT as two separate disciplines. Thus, you need to consult additional resources, such as the ODNI FAQ, to complete this assignment. In this short paper, you will distinguish each of these six sources/disciplines of intelligence using examples of intelligence collection in both domestic and foreign environments.
