Based upon the content of the Discussion Rubric, what key elements of the research process might you be challenged by?

Reply in one or more of the following ways to at least two of your colleagues’ postings and premises:

Provide your colleague with constructive criticism in line with the week’s learning objectives for methodology, such as by questioning their accuracy or presumptions or by utilizing Socratic questioning to draw their attention to methodology-related concerns.

Make sure your comments concentrate on research-related themes and resources and include scholarly references to back up your thoughts. You may address the study’s subject in your comments, but you must do it in the context of methodological alignment.

one-classmate conversation

Answering the following questions is the task for this week’s discussion (WK1_2): (a) What did the evaluation of my comprehension of and familiarity with research methodologies, research designs, and the Walden dissertation process, as well as the completion of the PhD Premise Template and study of the Discussion Rubric, reveal about me? (c) What are your main areas of strength and weakness in this area? (c) What crucial components of the research process can present challenges for you in light of the Discussion Rubric’s content? Self-evaluate the quality of your Premise Statement, paying close attention to the Problem Statement you created in the Premise Template and the Discussion Rubric; (e) How can the Discussion Rubric help you capitalize on your strengths and overcome your weaknesses?

To A, I was made aware of the distinction between the three types of research methods through the evaluation of the Ph.D. Premise Template and review of the Discussion Rubric: (a) a quantitative approach, (b) a qualitative approach, and (c) a mixed method approach with a qualitative or quantitative domination (Walden University, 2016). Additionally, the research designs can be divided into (a) confirmatory, in which hypotheses are tested; (b) exploratory, in which new hypotheses or theories are generated; and (c) numerous other designs (please also check Walden University, 2016). It seems vital to choose a research method and a study design to decide what data is required, what analysis is to be used, and other considerations for the Walden dissertation process.

My main areas of B-related strength and weakness are listed below. I consider my proficiency with numbers to be a strength. My shortcomings, though, are that I could improve my abilities. I might, therefore, choose to do my research using a quantitative or qualitative technique.

To C, one of the crucial steps in the research process that can provide me with difficulties is the data collection stage. When gathering the data, the process could be expensive. For instance, I could have to pay data provider companies for the daily returns from stock market data if I wish to use them. Therefore, if Walden members could offer encouragement or suggestions throughout this process, more understanding could be pertinent.

To D, further research on the particular topic would help my premise statement be of higher quality. The issues for management could be derived from this from both a wide and narrow perspective.

To E, the discussion rubric essentially can help me through its conceptual approach in building upon strengths and addressing deficiencies. A self-reflection can happen through this and the help or extra resources, and more competencies can be acquired.

2. Classmate conversation

I want to start by saying, for the record, that my score might have been a lot worse if I hadn’t seen the video in this week’s resources. Considering that I prefer option D, getting 58 of 77 questions right wasn’t too awful. The video included in this week’s materials focused on the idea that creating a prospectus is essential for landing a chair (Laureate Education, 2011). Thankfully, some of the questions did touch on that subject. The majority of the questions I didn’t get to were about constructivism and related subjects. I hold sensible opinions. I’m not sure how that fits in, but I’m going to estimate that 58–59 out of 77 questions on this test had accurate answers.

Understanding various scholarly perspectives used in research is one of my limitations. Early on in my Ph.D. program, I was warned that I might not succeed because of my background in creative writing. The message was clear—my inventiveness and “writing for the reader” were not encouraged during my Ph.D. studies, even though I was understating what I was told. I’m still here after two years. The funny thing is my next lecturer praised my writing and advised me to write with the reader in mind. I’m not here to win over everyone, but I am open to hearing diverse viewpoints. At the end of the day, I want to absorb knowledge from people who have already finished the voyage.

Premise Strengths and Weaknesses Evaluation

Hypothesis: Evaluation of Research Designs and Research Methods

Issue StatementThe doctoral degree is the only one that requires the completion of a research project. “To analyze the research methods and research designs used in the course” is the problem that is being addressed in this conversation. The various approaches and plans for carrying out the specific research endeavor were discussed. Students can use research methods to aid them with course and subject-related challenges. The research process consists of a few essential components. This study, which focuses on research techniques and approaches, will close the knowledge gap. The completion of the research project and course in various academic programs will be made easier with the aid of this material. Different techniques and layouts can be employed for the conversation.

Methodology for the Study Various qualitative and quantitative research approaches will be used in this project. The main techniques employed in this are quantitative techniques. The researcher employed the descriptive study design to explain the connections between the samples. Basic statistical techniques are used in this type of research design. Additionally, the experimental study approach is employed because it offers the maximum degree of control. The difference between distinct sets of samples can then be observed and explained by the researchers. Students may employ survey analysis and document analysis as research techniques. Interviews with those who have finished their course are included.

The researchers’ primary methods-related strengths are theirs. These techniques are advantageous for the research. These techniques have been used by researchers before. The approaches’ shortcomings are that people who are surveyed or interviewed may give inaccurate opinions regarding the research problem. The discussion guide provided will help you comprehend the method and research design step-by-step analysis. The problem statement analysis will be made simple by the rubric.
