I’m working on a Geology multi-part question and need a sample draft to help me study.Draw a geologic map per the following instructions and with the following features: Four stratigraphic units are present: A, B, C, and D (A = oldest, D = youngest).
In the west half of the map area, these units are folded into a NW-ward plunging asymmetric anticline (plunge angle 20°) with the NE limb dipping 50° and the SW limb dipping 10°.
Show all four units (A to D) as exposed surficially on both limbs of the anticline.
The east side of the map area is separated from the west by a major normal fault with the footwall on the east. The dip of the fault plane is 20°.
To the east, the same four stratigraphic units have been block faulted producing a series of horsts and grabens, all bounded by normal faults, with surficial exposure of unit A in the horsts and unit D in the grabens.
The normal faults in the east map area strike NNE-SSW and have fault-plane dips of about 70°.
Make sure to add all necessary symbols to show the faults and folds, including plunge angles and dip angles.Add representative strike and dip symbols (at least 10) across the map, including at least two on each side of the anticline (west map area), and several in the horst-and-graben area (east map area).
