• The sociopolitical climate

Because advanced practice nursing positions are not yet specifically regulated in Saudi Arabia, nurses are now working at a more advanced level and are involved in all aspects of health care practice. On the other hand, there are opportunities that will hasten the country’s achievement of the APN tasks. The advancement of social requirements in society, which made the creation of APN necessary, was significantly influenced by the social and political climate in Saudi Arabia. The introduction of midwifery services and basic health care shows the desire for humanistic and health-promoting services in the social and political environment.
Saudi Arabia has recently continued to work on developing advanced practice nursing positions that educate both genders at the master’s and PhD levels of nursing in order to give leadership and ensure that nurses are provided with the proper services, training, and regulation. Without foreign nurses, it is also impossible for nursing to progress further in the foreseeable future (Tumulty, 2001).
• the populace’s health requirements

In contrast to the US and UK, the health requirements of the population in Saudi Arabia are primarily concentrated in rural areas. To be able to address the requirements of the population, this calls for a paradigm shift of priority away from metropolitan centers and toward smaller communities. This is accomplished by educating more healthcare workers and building more medical facilities in rural areas. The Ministry of Health reported in 2009 that there is an uneven distribution of medical services across the globe. Additionally, particular groups, like the elderly or those with disabilities, in rural areas lack access to health services. Redistributing health care facilities is necessary to increase accessibility to medical care (Almalki et al. 2011).

• the supply and demand for health professionals

The Saudi Arabian government is considering the development of primary, secondary, and tertiary health care services. However, finding qualified staff is their biggest problem. It has difficulties due to a lack of professionals in the majority of local hospitals, specifically nurses and doctors. To meet the demand for a nursing workforce, there weren’t enough Saudi nurses. As a result, Saudi Arabia’s nursing workforce is dependent on foreigners, most of whom are recruited from the Philippines and India. Hospitals at the time of the Gulf War were discovered to be severely short on medical professionals due to the departure of nurses and other expats (Aldossary, While, and Barriball 2008). On the other hand, the majority of patients were Arabic-speaking, and neither English nor Arabic are typically regarded as first languages among the nurses who work in hospitals. As a result, there is a greater need for Saudi nurses to address these issues. In order to meet the demand and greater emphasis on “Saudiization” that has developed over the past ten years, the government has a responsibility to play in providing Saudi employees by opening health and nursing schools (Almalki et al., 2011; Aldossary, While, and Barriball, 2008). This prevents the development and implementation of workable methods to retain and recruit professionals, notably in nursing, and there is a clear need for Saudi Arabia’s healthcare system to undergo meaningful improvements.
• Governmental support and policy
The development of APN jobs in Saudi Arabia is considered to be greatly influenced by government sponsorship and policy. This is accomplished through sponsoring nursing programs that provide nurses with scholarships. The scholarship program is offered to nurses who work in healthcare settings like hospitals and basic health care centers, as well as academic settings like universities or nursing schools, in order to help them become more competent. Additionally, the King Abdullah Scholarship Program, which aimed to enable students to study overseas, was launched in 2005 for graduated students across all academic fields, not just health care (Alamri 2011). Additionally, Saudi Arabian universities supported students through the Ministry of Higher Education.
Recently, the Ministries of Health and Higher Education joined forces to strengthen nursing qualifications by eliminating all diploma nursing schools and encouraging students to switch to baccalaureate degrees. In order to obtain a BNS degree in nursing, they are offering bridge programs for nurses who currently have diploma certificates. A master’s degree in nursing has also been established at King Abdul-Aziz University, although a PhD program has not yet been implemented in Saudi Arabia (Miller-Rosser, Chapman, and Francis, 2006; Alamri, 2011).
• Working together inside and between professions

Collaboration within and between professions is crucial to the growth of each nursing function. Collaboration inside and between professions allows for the development of fresh concepts, plans, and methods for handling health challenges. The level of intra- and inter-professional collaboration is still developing, which has a significant impact on how APN functions are scaled up. 2001; Ketefian et al.

• improvement in nursing education
First created in 1958, Saudi Arabia’s nursing education program primarily trained men to become nurses (Tumulty 2001). The situation has now altered, and women are now able to receive nursing training. The advancement of nursing education has significantly aided in the creation of APNs in Saudi Arabia. For instance, the Ministry of Health created additional nursing colleges offering different levels of nursing education, such as 9 or 12 years of formal education, to allow students to get a diploma in nursing. Then, in order to enhance nursing education, King Saud University in Riyadh created the first Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in 1976, followed by the Master of Science in Nursing program in 1987. Later, in 1996, a program for PhD scholarships was launched. Additionally, additional organizations offer nursing education programs in the public and private sectors (Aldossary, While, and Barriball 2008). There are now 15 colleges in Saudi Arabia that offer a bachelor’s degree in nursing, according to the scenario there.

Despite the fundamental difficulties they face in terms of efficiency, efficacy, and the caliber of the services provided, Saudi Arabia registers evidence of APN involvement. All systems aiming to adopt APN roles have these difficulties (Goudreau & Smolenski, 2014).

What are the expected results—for oneself, clients, or colleagues?

For me, it would be beneficial to enhance the nurse’s position as an educator for patients and families and strive to implement various educational projects, such as leaflets.
Deliver information to the client and family that they require and make sure it satisfies their needs. Families may make this information available to them and help them use it in their lives.
