If your high-efficiency building is not comfortable for the occupants, they may offset your expected savings by using inefficient methods to achieve comfort. These inefficient methods include all of these except:
1. Contacting controls technicians for an adjusted, more desirable, set-point.
2. Opening the window to counteract the the HVAC system.
3. Using plug-loads to create micro-climates through the use of fans, portable lamps, and space heaters.
4. Tampering with thermostats and other sensors to “trick” the HVAC system into performing differently.
