Critique of Quantitative Methods Journal Paper

The second assessment, which accounts for 60% of the course’s overall evaluation, is a 2000-word essay titled “Critique of Quantitative Methods Journal Paper.” This project, which builds on the papers you submit for debate in your weekly seminars, asks you to analyze and understand a business and management journal article that uses a quantitative methodology.
You must analyze and interpret the journal article that is connected to this assignment.
Why Are Some Subsidiaries of Multinationals the Source of Novel Practices While Others Are Not? by Tony Edwards, Rocio Sanchez-Mangas, Jacques Belanger, and Anthony McDonnell. British Journal of Management, Vol. 26, pp. 146–162, “National, Corporate, and Functional Influences.”
The following topics will be covered in the essay: Introduction: What are the main research gaps that the publication aims to fill? Describe the incoherencies, contradictions, and uncertainties in current theory and empirical research briefly. What are the characteristics of the sample employed in the study, an assessment of its suitability for the research topic, and any flaws? Describe the most important statistics in the article and what they mean in the majority of your paper (at least 1000 words). Conclusions: Discuss how the study might have been conducted differently by the researchers. Here, I’m particularly interested in your original thinking as it relates to the seminar discussions of earlier papers you’ve written for this course.
Instead of merely summarizing or copying text verbatim from the paper, I’d like you to evaluate the journal article in your own words. This will demonstrate to me that you have carefully considered the article and have come to your own understanding. This activity is designed to assist you in dissecting quantitative journal articles and creating a critical reflex for subsequent articles you might read as part of your undergraduate curriculum.
