Thanks to everyone for jumping into the discussion forums this week. You may determine that it is easier to respond to the questions earlier in the week versus on Friday, but the choice is yours.

Everyone has provided insightful responses to Jackie’s approach to implementing positive discipline as a corrective counseling for her lab technicians. Now we’ll turn the discussion to a topic that plagues everyone – stress management.

This is a two-parter:

1. We didn’t get a chance to take the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale. Take the brief assessment:

Homes & Rahe’s Stress Scale

You should be able to do this on line; you will receive a score. Based upon your score discuss how your level of stress and how the level of stress impacts your ability to effectively supervisor employees.

2. Take a look at Albrecht’s 4 Types of Stress that was provided to you in class. Here’s the link if you can’t put you hands on it:

Albrecht’s Stress Types

Discuss which type of stress is a trigger for you and how the awareness and management of this stress type either hinders or enhances your effectiveness as a manager.

Be honest in your answers…trust me I am way off the chart :-)!! For clarity, please response by indicating #1, and #2.

If you are unable to open either link, you will need to go to www.mindtools.com, and search for either by the name provided.
