Oncology

A research on different cell lines such as HCT 116, SCC-9, SCC-25, NCI-87, OE-19 and what we do is check for DNA damage and how much drug concentration it takes to kill half the cells. We do this with and without radiation and check for the combined effect of drugs and radiation. The assays we do include Comets, Alamar Blues, Gamma H2Ax and SF2’s. The different drugs we use are FRAX 97, PF3758308 as examples. We check for the combined effect of nano molars of these drugs with 2 gray of radiation. Please make the research proposal about how that is the main goal. The larger goal is to put these into actual phases of clinical trials as this is just the pre phase. Please look up the above assays and use sources to support all methodology’s and research questions. Introduction Research question and hypothesis The why question? Why is this research important, why is this research necessary, why should this research matter to other people… Literature Review An academic conversation What have authors, professors and others said about the issue? What has past research said about your topic? Methods General approach on how your research will answer your research question? What types of experiments are you doing to garner your data or how specifically are you undertaking these experiments? Preliminary list of references Make sure to cite all sources that you use in your proposal Introduction: Identify the most important or central issue(s) Define key concepts and terms Articulate a specific research question or problem (usually within first 2 to 3 paragraphs) What is the intended outcome of the research or what are you trying to investigate Clarify the purpose of your research (your general goal) E.g. testing a specific hypothesis, trying to fill a knowledge gap, explore patterns or inconsistencies in past research Detail the significance of your research Why should we care? Why does this research matter? What will the research help solve? Explain how you intend to investigate your research question and test your hypothesis Define how you intend to approach the research and the types of evidence you will use Highlight key pervious findings and add context to your topic which will lead into your literature review Methodology: Be specific about your theoretical or procedural approach E.g. field observation, experimental study, critical analysis Provide as much detail about your methods as possible given your current progress. How were participants recruited for the study? How were measurements taken? What instruments or tools did you use? How does your research contribute to the academic conversation? Does it fill a knowledge gap, does it offer an alternative finding or perspective, does it confirm or replicate prior research? Try to incorporate visual aids if appropriate Acknowledge potential limitations or challenges you face in your research Are your results reliable? Are your results applicable to larger society or populations? How do you plan to address the limitations or challenges you face?
