Professional ethics

• Carefully read my class notes and the readings/materials for Week 9 reading. • After doing so, you need to develop an essay on your professional ethics (i.e., the values, principles, and morals that inform your actions as a professional). • In your essay, you need to: o Develop an introduction discussing the importance of articulating your professional ethics (i.e., the values, principles, and morals that guide your professional actions). Your introduction needs to be no less than 10 sentences in length. o At the end of the introduction, you need to make a clear point about the purpose of your essay (i.e., to articulate your professional ethics and illustrate how such ethics actually guides your professional actions). The purpose of your essay needs to be stated in 1 or 2 sentences (in bold font). o After doing the aforementioned, you need to develop the body of your essay. In your topic sentences, identify: 1. All the democratic, professional, and human values (ideas, objects, practices, and habits of behavior/character traits) that guide your own professional actions—see Molina & McKeown’s article. 2. All the principles (truths that have to be followed—e.g., laws and rules) that guide your own professional actions. 3. All the morals (beliefs about life, humanity, and nature) that guide your own professional actions. •  Second, in your paragraphs, you need to define in your own words and providing references to week 9 class readings/materials (must include week 9 readings/materials in the essay) and other credible sources: 1. All the democratic, professional, and human values (ideas, objects, practices, and habits of behavior/character traits) that guide your own professional actions. 2. All the principles (truths that have to be followed—e.g., laws and rules) that guide your own professional actions. 3. All the morals (beliefs about life, humanity, and nature) that guide your own professional actions. •  Last, you need to illustrate how your values, principles, and morals actually guide your professional actions. To do so, you need to provide one or two detailed examples (per value, principle, and moral) from your own experience that help the reader visualize how your values, principles, and morals actually guide your professional actions. o After identifying and defining your values, principles, and morals, and illustrating how they actually guide your professional actions, you need to proceed with your conclusion. In it, you need to make sure to remind the reader of the importance of articulating your professional ethics discussed in your introduction. Also, you need to remind the reader about the values, principles, and morals discussed in the body of your essay that guide your professional actions (please do this in bold font). Your conclusion needs to be no less than 10 sentences in length. • As you write your essay, you need to ensure that: paragraphs begin with a short topic sentence; transitions are included to tie paragraphs together; well-polished and professional language appropriate for academic writing is used (i.e., you need to avoid colloquialisms, contractions (e.g., I’m, I’ve, it’s, you’re, you’ve), metaphors, subjective words, passive voice, and long sentences/paragraphs). • Throughout your essay, you need to include references to my class notes, the book chapters, and articles assigned for Week 9, other peer-reviewed publications, and/or other credible sources. Also, you need to ensure that in-text references and full reference in the references list at the end of your essays are formatted according to APA guidelines. • After writing your essay, you need to carefully proofread it. In doing so, your focus needs to be on addressing all grammar, syntax, and punctuation errors. • Before submitting your essay, you need to ensure that it is more than 3000 words in length (not counting the title page, abstract, and reference list). Please include your paper’s word count at the end of your abstract under the sub-heading “Word Count
