In Frankenstein, the characters and not affected by colonization because they are European, and thus, the colonizers. In Heart of Darkness the Africans are fully colonized. Finally, in Things Fall Apart, we witness the effects of colonization as the white man moves in with their religion.

You will also want to examine what the role is like for women in Europe even though the country is not colonize. Do they have more or less freedom? What is their role?
